AGM 22 September

Jürg · Aug 13, 2014 · Leave a Comment

People_AGMYou are warmly invited to our inaugural AGM on 22 Sept 2014. Please note that this is new date, to comply with the notification period in our constitutional rules.

VENUE:  Upstairs Room, Pegasus Arms, 14 Oxford Terrace (near the hospital). Access is off Tuam St & Oxford Tce (map).
DATE:    Monday, 22 September 2014
TIME:     5:30 – 7:30pm

Before we get into the more formal part of the AGM, we have a real treat for you! Tony Moore (Principal Sustainability Advisor at the Christchurch City Council) will present the highlights from his recent study tour to Europe:

THE RESILIENT CITIES SMÖRGÅSBORD – LESSONS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHRISTCHURCH

The Resilient Cities Study Tour took place between 18 and 29 May 2014, visiting The Hague, Lille, London, Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Bonn. A delegation of five New Zealand based researchers, an MBIE official and two officers from Auckland and Christchurch Councils took part. The tour also included two conferences.  The Urban Areas Under Change in Hamburg and ICLEI World Resilient Cities Conference in Bonn. This presentation will be Tony’s reflections on the tour and conferences attended.

Jane and Rex have seen Tony’s presentation and it is fantastic!

NOMINATIONS FOR VIVA CORE COMMITTEE

In accordance with the ‘Viva Sustainable Urban Village Project’ constitution (section 12.4), nominations for the committee roles of Co-Convenor, Secretary, Treasurer and core committee members were invited on 23 June 2014.

We received nominations for the positions of Co-convenor (Jane Quigley – since Lin Roberts is stepping down, another co-convenor is required) and core committee members (David Guthrey, Ruth Walcoff, Lin Roberts, Rex Verity and Jürg Hönger).  According to our constitution, our committee can be up to 12 people, so we would love another three people joining the committee!

Please consider being nominated for a position!  Here is a nomination form for you to download, fill in and return to Jane (bjanequigley@gmail.com).  Verbal nominations will also be accept at the AGM.  If you wanted a conversation about either of these roles, don’t hesitate to call either Jane (0274 592 371) & Jürg (021 633 130).
